Why D-Rat?

Robust Lightweight Easy to Use
Safe Versatile Quick to set up

How it works

D-Rat is very simple. Mount vertically to an object such as a tree, add bait like peanut butter, then push the lever back to set. Looking to catch a mouse instead? The D-Rat’s sensitivity can be adjusted to activate at much lighter touch.

Once you’ve caught a rat or mouse, simply release the trap to dispose. The trap can be cleared and re-baited in less than five seconds.

Where to place the D-Rat

The D-Rat is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Trees

D-Rat can be attached to a tree with a cable tie or a bayonet clip. Place upside down so the trap is easily accessible by rats and mice – but not birds.  Using multiple D-Rats set up in a trapline, you can protect your property at the edge of the bush. The bright yellow D-Rat units are easy to spot through bush, making clearing and resetting the trapline easy.

Equipment

Struggling with rats in the kitchen, factory or commercial space? D-Rat can be attached to equipment with a cable tie in the problem areas. Just bait, set and catch to keep your indoor spaces clean and rodent free.

Wall Stud

Rats love to climb. Keep your rat and mice traps off the ground by mounting D-Rat to the Wall Stud.  Also, setting the D-rat at height removes any risk of small children interacting with it. Have an issue with rats in the roof? See the Rat Hatch for a ceiling-mounted solution.

Garden Shed

Keep your shed clean and rodent free with a D-Rat trap. Attract rats and mice from the garden and work towards a pest-free property.

Setting the D-Rat

The D-Rat is straightforward and safe to use.

  1. Make sure the D-Rat unit is not set. The back lever should be facing forward.
  2. If the D-Rat trap is vertically mounted, open the yellow top for direct access to apply bait.
  3. Bait the trap with crunchy peanut butter. Place some in the bait hole but also smear some on the surrounding plate. For new traps, place some bait near the trap such as the tree trunk.
  4. Close the yellow cover.
  5. Push the black lever back away from the front of the unit until it clicks into place.
  6. The trap is now set.
  7. To adjust sensitivity for lighter rodents like mice, toggle the red switch up into mouse mode,  per the indicators next to the switch.
  8. Once a rat or mouse has been caught, you can release the rodent by lifting the black level slightly, before resetting.
  9. If you wish to release a set trap safely, push the black lever up and hold. While holding the lever up, switch the red toggle to release mode and the trap will unset.
